Dear :iconxxhano::

I don't really know how to tell you this, but you're a pervert. I think I realized it First of May with George Bush and his wife and I saw you carve your initials into my avocado plant. I'm sure you're scarred enough to understand that Santa doesn't exist. I'm returning your memories from the military service to you, but I'll keep your collection of butterflies as a memory. You should also know that I will tell the authorities about eggplant-fetishism.

Go drown yourself,
:iconxxziggi:

Amberlea Harvest

Sun Sep 21, 2008, 4:23 PM
Well, I am in the midst of my first horse show aside from little schooling shows at the barn. We headed out Friday morning and had a heck of a time loading Phil up. Phil was also on his way to his first horse show, but after about 3 hours at the show grounds, we took him home. He was a "tad" bit stressed; ie had a mental breakdown. My poor Phillip! <33

After taking Phil home, we headed out with Nico for a second try. I've never jumped Nico before, so it was quite different. First day of classes went by today and I am actually quite pleased with how we did; even if I was only entered in the poles and crossrails and 2'3 Very Novice Horse.

6th in the Crossrails Working Hunter I
1st in the Crossrails Working Hunter II
2nd in the Very Novice Working Hunter I and
6th in the Very Novice Working Hunter II

It was so exciting to be at my first show and on a totally new, GOOD horse. He's not exactly like my usual lesson mounts that require a bit more "riding" persay. He's a $35,000 just-turned-5 year-old thoroughbred hunter/jumper. An amazing ride! Tomorrow I will update on how my two stakes and two under saddles turn out. ^^

EDIT: Oh my goodness. I did not expect to do nearly as well as I did, I am so pleased with it. And now I love Nico to bits. He is a complete sweetheart and a dream to ride. Results from today:

1st in the Crossrails Hunter Stake
3rd in the Very Novice Hunter Stake (we did 6 down a 5 stride while trying to slow down xp)
1st in the Crossrails Under Saddle
2nd in the Very Novice Under Saddle (we were tired and trotted twice at the canter) AND
Champion in the Crossrails and Reserve in the Very Novice

Today's News

Fri Aug 1, 2008, 7:06 PM
So I was heading off the stables this morning for work when the news came on the radio mentioning some little blurb about a man that was decapitated yesterday I think. Decapitated, in Brandon. You're kidding me right?

At the barn, Leila was reading a news article about it to us. It was on a Greyhound bus headed for Winnipeg. A man was sitting minding his own business (texting his girlfriend and listening to his ipod, how could you mind your business even more?) when a strange came and sat beside him. I don't know what led up to it, but they didn't talk and the strange just pulled out a knife and started stabbing the man; I think it totaled to 70 times or so they say? He hen ended up cutting the guy's head off, showing it to everyone on the bus and then ate some of his flesh!

This is the most disturbing thing I've heard of in a while and in little old Brandon, Alberta too. And this followed the rape of a little eleven year old in Leduc not long ago as well.

Simple Pleasures

Sat Apr 26, 2008, 4:49 PM
I really think I should start updating my journal more. I've been on DA for how long now and my first journal was a tagged chain-letter thing? How sad is that? >_< Well, I have to say you should all be very proud of me; tis my first actual journal entry yet. ^^

Don't you just love the simple pleasures in life? You know, those things that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside without much reason or those things that just make you smile. I don't know why I thought of this; its just came to me when I was thinking about how tired I am after a 7 hour day of hard labor at the barn. I hate going to work but I get home and something just makes it feel all worth it. As much as I complain, I just have to smile on the inside. I really am lucky.

I'm out at the stables 4, sometimes even 5 days a week riding and sometimes working. I hack this crazy Morgan horse Monday, Wednesday and Friday. I worth with poor, traumatized Gunther Monday, Friday and Saturday, jumping him and messing with his poor little mind most of those days (or the ones that my instructor happens to be around). I work with my own mount, Solomon, who I take lessons with. And I do whoever else of the lesson horses that need to get done. Its is crazy and typically I am out there from 4:00 in the evening till about 8 or 9:00 that night. --sigh-- Sometimes I don't even want to go out.

But then its the days where I do push myself to get on Gunther, Cairo (who has recently recovered from a fractured leg and is starting jumping again) or Solomon that I really do love. Gunther has improved so much I can't even express this properly to you. I hate riding him; he never stops and he starts hopping as soon as he gets nervous. Its a huge pain, but than when I feel him actually calming down in a few minutes, I have to smile and pat him. He is doing so well and I am so proud of the progress I've made with him; one of my simple pleasures.

Than there's Solomon. When I started riding him he would run around with his head sucked into his chest. Guess what --not anymore! He trusts me more than anyone else and he listens and pays some attention to me. Sure, I have to use spurs or a crop to get him over the fences, run his face into the wall to make him stop, but look at what he does to the other kids? He throws them off; he stops at the smallest jumps and here he is hopping over nearly 3'0 oxers. My love; another simple pleasure. I love him to pieces even if he isn't mine.

So what are some of your simple pleasures?
